Finally getting onto a normal schedule. Fell asleep around 9:30 pm last night, and woke up - very rested - at 6:00 am. Much more productive this morning - made myself a fresh green juice, followed up with clients, checked a shit ton off of my to-do list, and then drove down to Redondo Beach for my weekly goal-setting session ... aaaaaaand, picked up a delicious chocolate chia seed pudding with goji berries and cacao nibs on the way.
Our goal-setting guide is a powerhouse named Sara Krish. She is a cancer survivor and one of the most vibrant people I know. The program is called Get Lit, and I can honestly say that I felt like my mind and heart were ablaze during and after our session today.
We focused on our values, which is something I think about rationally, but haven't really thought about in the context of my heart and what fires it up. Given that Max (The Crystal Skull) has clearly given me the directive of connecting more fully to my heart, this seemed like the perfect exercise. And it seemed to be working, given how fired up I felt.
After a few deep-thought questions to get us in the zone, we wrote down all of the things that we value, stream-of-consciousness style. From there, we bucketed each "value" under an umbrella value. For instance, "fun." "bliss," "play," all fit under a broader "joy" umbrella for me. We narrowed down our options to 3-5 overarching themes, and this is what I landed on:
The challenge for this week is finding ways of identifying how we can bring more of these values into our lives, and aligning our desires and actions with these core values. I am allllll about this challenge.
After the session, I met my dear friend Claire Stringer of Clearing with Claire at one of my favorites, Sage Vegan Bistro, and I enjoyed a super delicious, suuuuper healthy kale, rice, guacamole bowl. Feeling like a cleansing pro today.
Next stop is Book Club where we get to discuss our new book choice, Eastern Body, Western Mind. Heart chakra, I'm comin' for ya!
UPDATE: At Book Club, we wrote to our Senators about the issues that are causing us major concern. It was motivating to articulate my feelings about women's rights and climate change, and etch them onto paper in solidarity with 3 other powerful females. At the end of our sesh, we drew Animal Spirit cards. The 3 cards pictured below literally fell out of the deck as I was shuffling them. Not surprisingly, the overarching theme was right in line with Max's wise words - live in the mystery, get comfortable with the unknown.
